In 2026, Crossroads Drug & Alcohol Testing celebrates 28 years in an industry that has changed dramatically—and I’ve been here for every turn. My story starts simply. There was no roadmap, just relationships, trust, and showing up to do the work.
What began humbly has grown into a reliable drug and alcohol testing company, supporting transportation compliance for government, employers, and individuals who are serving in safety-sensitive industries nationwide.
Growing With the Industry, Not Chasing It
Over the years, compliance became more complex. Regulations tightened. Data multiplied. Technology reshaped expectations. Crossroads didn’t just adapt, we made a decision to lead.
We implemented systems that connect collection sites, laboratories, medical review officers, and final results electronically, creating a seamless, defensible flow of information. That connectivity is not just for speed, but for accuracy, accountability, and peace of mind.
As the company scaled, one thing never changed, I am accessible; no call centers, no layers. I am here to share my expertise..
The 10 Things Every CDL Driver Should Know About DOT Compliance
- Hours of Service (HOS)
HOS rules limit how long you can drive and work each day and week. Required rest breaks reduce fatigue and prevent accidents. - Vehicle Inspections
Pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections are mandatory. Safety defects must be reported and fixed before driving. - Drug & Alcohol Testing
CDL drivers are subject to random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing. A positive test can sideline or enda career. - CDL Standards
Maintaining a CDL requires passing knowledge and skills tests, meeting medical standards, and holding a valid medical certificate. - Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)
Most drivers must use ELDs to track driving time electronically, ensuring HOS compliance. - Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
Transporting HazMat requires special endorsements and strict handling, labeling, and documentation rules. - Weight & Size Limits
Vehicles must stay within federal limits unless special permits and routes are approved. - Medical Certification
Drivers must carry a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate proving physical qualification to operate safely. - Cargo Securement
DOT requires cargo to be properly secured to prevent shifting or falling during transit. - Driver Qualification Files (DQFs)
Employers must maintain complete driver records. Drivers should confirm their information is accurate and current.
